WELDING CAPABILITIES AND PROFESSIONAL RESULTS
Welding Range AC: 5-200
DC: 5-200
  AC: 5-230
DC: 5-230
Both machines provide the ability to weld ¼” aluminum. The low duty cycle of the Precision TIG 225 negates any advantage in welding range.
Duty Cycle Ratings
(Amp Draw)
100% @ 100A/24V (30.4A)
40% @ 150A/26V (47.8A)
20% @ 200A/28V (65.8A)
  100% @ 100A/24V (28.6A)
30% @ 150A/26V (45.4A)
15% @ 200A/28V (63.5A)
The duty cycle of the Syncrowave 200 is the highest in this class. The Precision TIG draws 81 amps when AC TIG welding at 230A/19.2V and has a limited duty cycle of 10% Duty Cycle.
Meters, Amperage/Voltage Alpha-Numeric Dual Digital Amps & Volts   NO, Amperage Only   Dual digital meters provide a reference and feedback for professional results. Digital settings ensure accuracy and repeatability so you’re never guessing. Alpha-numeric displays enhance parameter adjustment and displayed information.
Digital Balance Control YES   NO   Digital AC Balance control provides precise adjustment – for just the right amount of cleaning action.
Digital Pulse Control YES   NO   Use digital meters for accurate presets, adjustment and repeatability of the pulses per second. This feature allows the operator to control the bead appearance. The Precision TIG is set by observing a flashing light, making repeatable welds very difficult.
Pulse Parameter Adjustment YES   NO, Fixed   If pulsing settings need to differ from the factory default parameters, enter the Pulse Parameter setup and dial them in. Optimize your settings and maintain control with 1-knob after setup.
Syncro-Start™ YES   NO   Because material thicknesses can vary, so should your arc start. The Syncrowave 200 allows you to choose from Soft, Standard and Hot TIG HF Starts based on material thickness and electrode diameter. Optimize your arc start for the application. The Precision TIG uses a “one size fits all” approach to arc starting.
Dual In-Line HF Spark Gap YES   No   Patented, In-Line, Dual Spark Gap Assembly technology provides reliable High Frequency. The dual points are larger and mounted horizontally. This assures great starts every time and improves arc stabilization when welding aluminum.
Adaptive Hot Start™ for Stick Arc Starts YES   NO   Adaptive Hot Start is exclusive Miller technology that consists of a special arc starting circuit in STICK mode to prevent sticking of the electrode and promote smooth, stable starts without excessive flare up.
SIMPLIFIED SETUP AND OPERATION
Auto Postflow YES   NO   Never worry if you have enough postflow to protect the weld or if you’re wasting gas with the Syncrowave 200. Auto Postflow automatically adjusts the length of postflow based on your welding amps – for optimum gas coverage every time!
Postflow Control YES   YES   With the Syncrowave 200 you have the ability to manually over-ride Auto Postflow if necessary.
DIG Control YES   NO   The Syncrowave’s adjustable DIG control lets you set the STICK arc force – which prevents electrode sticking while welding. The circuit is adaptive and is only active if the power source detects that the electrode is extremely close to the workpiece – and sticking is likely.
Output "ON" Indicator YES, Blue LED   NO   Highly visible blue LED on the operator interface provides a quick indication that the welding output is on.
Gas Purge Control YES   NO   Purge the TIG torch with argon prior to welding for immediate coverage after installing cylinders or after system has been idle.
Integrated Soft Grip Handles YES   NO   Handles on the Syncrowave 200 are solid steel with an over-molded grip for a soft touch and heavy duty construction.
Quality Accessory Kit YES   NO   The Syncrowave 200 provides the necessary accessories for both TIG and STICK welding. The Syncrowave includes a 100% Brass regulator, a larger work clamp, and a name brand Weldcraft torch with ultra-flex cable. The competition doesn’t include a STICK electrode holder/cable and the work cable is fixed 20” off the floor creating another possible tripping hazard.
Fan-On-Demand™ YES   NO, Fan As Needed   Fan-On-Demand only operates when necessary, increasing efficiency while reducing noise and maintenance from airborne contaminants pulled into the machine.
Arc Hour / Cycle Counter YES   NO   Can be used for preventative maintenance schedules and for service / repair. Provides arc hours in hours and minutes along with the total number of arc starts. (see special functions)
HELP Messages YES   NO   Digital meters display helpful reminders of improper setup that normally can be quickly and easily corrected by the operator or alerts operator or tech. of possible causes to power source failure.
Auxiliary Power (115V) YES   YES   The Syncrowave 200 provides you with 115V auxiliary power conveniently located on the lower front panel (minimal tripping hazard) for operating a cooler or small power tools. The Lincoln design has the receptacles located on the rear of the machine which shortens the effective length of the power cords for hand tools. Access is difficult due to the Argon cylinder and/or filler metal storage, and at 18.5” off the floor, could pose a possible tripping hazard.
Last Procedure Recall LED's YES   YES   Simplifies changing polarity and changing processes. Process variables such as HF & postflow are tied to the position of the polarity switch.
Preflow 0.4 seconds   0.5 seconds   The Syncrowave 200 provides enough preflow to purge the weld area with shielding gas prior to arc starting. More preflow than the required amount is wasteful and noticeably delays arc starting.
Dimensions H x W x D" (mm) 30.125 x 21.125 x 21.5
(765 x 537 x 546)
  20.7 x 14.5 x 25.6
(526 x 368 x 650)
The Syncrowave 200 is engineered for maximum cooling of internal components. The stacked transformer makes this a high-boy design and places operator controls at a convenient level.
Weight lbs. (kg) 238 (108)   212 (96)   Heavy duty construction gives the Syncrowave 200 a higher duty cycle rating and confidence in the machine’s ruggedness. Especially important when welding above 150 amps.
