Nextel Cup Series

16 of the top 20 NEXTEL CUP race teams use MILLER welders.

Each race team has at least 12 racecars to run the full Nextel Cup circuit. Each racecar is built to different specs for different types of race tracks. (super speedways, short tracks, intermediate tracks and road courses) So, a team like Hendrick that has 5 race teams has over 60 cars to maintain! Hendrick Motorsports builds 40 new cars a year, updates 25 of the old ones and repairs at least 45 more throughout the year.

There are 38 races on the Nextel Cup schedule. With testing added to the schedule, out of 52 weeks in a year, the average driver’s time away from a race car is only about 4 to 6 weeks.
