Miller to support the 2013 Street Rodder Road Tour

Miller has signed on to support the Street Rodder Road Tour for another great year.  The magazine has commissioned Tennessee-based Honest Charley Garage to build a 1951 Ford.  The shop, known to be one of America’s premier street rod builders, is owned by Corky Coker, founder of Coker Tires, the dominant vintage car tire manufacturer, and SEMA Hall of Famer and past president.

The Street Rodder editorial staff will both oversee and document the fabrication/build process. The shop will use Miller welding and cutting products for the build. Following the build and unveiling, the car will be road tested and travel approximately 20,000 miles to eight events across the county in order to showcase the inherent quality of the parts developed in the street rod market.

Tune into future issues of Street Rodder to catch the build action. A Tech Manual will also be created by the publication to describe this entire process.

In addition, Miller will travel to the shop and capture some of the fabrication process. These how to videos will be shared in upcoming issues of our DIY e-newsletter. Are you signed up to receive DIY? Don’t miss this exclusive content. Sign up today at MillerWelds.com/newsletters.

Last year, we captured the action at Burbank, Calif.-based Hollywood Hot Rods. Shop owner Troy Ladd and his team of fabricators completed a ’40 Ford coupe that utilized a Bob Drake body on a Fatman chassis.
