Tim Gill, Kansas City, MO

Nominated by his co-worker David Hawkins

Tim Gill is a patient and caring teacher who takes the time to really get to know his students and teach them what they need to know to be excellent welders.

When he needed a good project for his fabrication class he chose something useful. Rather than have his students create some widget that does nothing, he chose to help out a good cause called the Personal Energy Transportation (P.E.T.) project. The finished projects are donated to this charity for use on hand-powered wheel chairs for third world countries. http://giftofmobility.org/.

He has also devoted quite a bit of time helping boy scouts earn the new welding merit badge. He has even gone out of his way several times to mentor local artists and art students learn good welding practices for metal art work. He doesn't know I am nominating him but when I heard about your recognition program I knew he should be nominated.

I can't think of anyone who deserves it more than Tim Gill.
