Hot Rod Ambulance

  • Project Description

My metal art ambulance is a scale model of my interpretation of a hot rod ambulance. Featuring 50\'s style Cadillac fins, a 39 Plymouth style rear section, and a 70 Chevrolet style front end, my ambulance is made of copper (where a rear ambulance would feature red paint) and steel (where it would be white), plus a brass grill, this project was a true labor of love. Beyond the body, the rims of this scale model are made of copper, with oak tires and emblems made of Alexandrite gems. Once I TIG welded it all together with my Diversion 180 while sporting a Miller Performance Series welding hood and Arc Armor TIG gloves, I accented it with Gold and Silver leafing and One Shot pinstriping enamel. The entire project was hand-made by myself and no one else, and is something that I am very proud of!
