  • Project Description

I have a 500 hive bee business and I needed a fork lift to move them. A Swinger is too expensive so I built this one using CJ5 drive train to make it a 4x4 and a 350 Chevy V8 w/ a turbo 400 auto transmission. The frame is 2x6x3/8 rectangle tubing Z'd to make room for a sprung axle to facilitate smooth towing. The mast is a Edwards that I altered to allow towing with the front wheels raised and the manual hubs unlocked. All this was done with a Miller AC stick welder. I purchased a Millermatic 211 wire feed after this project. That has proven to be a good purchase.
