  • Project Description

    Took a John Deere adjustable running gear with leaf and coil springs and completely rebuilt. Took out adjustable center pipe and installed permanant with top reinforcemant. Made a top frame out of 4" Channel Iron with center reinforcemants. Added a bottom equal distribution type reinforcement.

    Build Process

    Started with running gear separated then weled new 2 7/8" pipe to center. Added 2" channel iron to the full length. Fabricated a full 4" channel iron frame with 3 middle supports. Made a lower spring distribution to help transfer the center weight to both running gears.

    Tools Used

    Used my Miller Thunderbolt to weld. Frame 4" Channel. Center supports 4" channel & 2 3/8" pipe. Bottom support 1 1/2" x 3/16" flat iron. Lower connection 2 7/8" pipe and 2" channel full length. Welded with E6010+ and LH 7018 rod.
