Project Description

48 X 48" garden gate, scrolls are hand forged from 1/2" steel rod (25' used), flowers and butterflies are plasma cut and hand formed. Welded using Miller-Matic 211

Build Process

Cut 1/2" steel rod and draw out ends (hand forge) to be made into scrolls, about 5' sections, form scrolls on anvil and weld sections together to form the basic shape, add flowers, butterflies, and birds.

Tools Used

Miller-Matic 211, plasma torch, hand grinder, forge, anvil, and scrolling pliers. Materials: 25' 1/2" steel rod, scraps for flowers, butterflies, and leaves. Metal baskets and acanthus leaves for birds (King Architectural Supply), 1/4" rod for flower stems (15')
