Satellite Antenna Base

by J. Coulson Email J. Coulson

Project Description

This antenna base is made from old bed frame and so 1/8 inch plate. It has threaded rod with a fender washer welded on the bottom and lock nuts and a hand crank on the top in each corner. I have a compass glued to it for leveling and it works very well. The triangular shape allows it to be set up on uneven ground

Build Process

I built the triangular base on the floor of my shop and the rest was attached on my welding table. I primed the unit and painted it a flat black except for the leveling jacks.

Tools Used

I used my Miller 140 autoset, Achopsaw, hand grinder and a hand cut-off saw.
