MIG/TIG Combo Cart

by G. Wright

Project Description

I have limited shop space but need MIG and TIG. I needed a way to combine my Syncrowave 180 and my Millermatic 135 into one mobile footprint. The lower frame holds the Syncrowave 180 and includes storage for 2 tanks (with safety harnesses) and consumables. The upper rack holds my Millermatic 135. The handle to pull cart around is integrated into the Syncrowave 180. This a great space saver and a very fun project! Build Description I used rectangular, square, round tube and flat stock to complete the project. I first built the lower frame into the channel in the Syncrowave to keep the whole package low to the ground. Once complete I built the upper rack to hold the welder and look good. The idea was to make it look like a production unit. Materials and Tools Syncrowave 180, Millermatic 135, abrasive chop saw, sander, grinder, drill press and my brain.

I am looking for a cart for my mig welder and related tools and supplies. The ones being sold don't look sturdy enough for the tanks and fire suppression equipment. This one looks like it would do the job.

Nice project. I made a cart with my plazma and tig welder on it and a 1/4 plate work surface on top.

Nice cart! What did you use for the wheels/casters & where did you source them? I have a similar project but need wheels & casters that will handle the weight of my 211 & an 80 cu/ft bottle. thanks
