Miller proudly introduces Jefferson Davis Community College in Brewton, Alabama.
At Jefferson Davis Community College, James Smith believes that students should be prepared for a variety of jobs but that the school should be willing to train according to what both students and employers are looking for.
“Projects simulate mock-ups in the industry," says Smith. "We try to involve 'on-the-job' tactics along with state curriculum, but students often know what area they want to go into, so we want to cater to those employers' requirements."
Smith's advice for aspiring young welders: "Listen to the old guys. More than likely they have 'been there, done that' way before you were born."
