| Miller’s new induction heating resource page offers detailed induction heating process descriptions, applications with set-up suggestions, case studies, and time-to-temperature calculators for pipe and plate applications |
APPLETON, Wis., August 24, 2009—Miller Electric Mfg. Co. has launched its new online induction heating resource page to better educate welders and fabricators on the benefits of induction heating. The site includes detailed induction heating process descriptions, applications with set-up suggestions, case studies, and time-to-temperature calculators for pipe and plate applications.
Induction heating is used for preheating and stress-relieving in the fabrication and construction of steel pipe and plate. It’s also used in coating removal and shrink fitting. Fabricators who visit the site will discover the benefits of using induction heating over traditional heating processes, view creative uses for induction heating, and calculate time-to-temperature savings for typical pipe and plate heating applications using air-cooled and liquid-cooled heating tools.

Induction Heating More Efficient, Effective than Alternatives
Induction heating offers benefits that improve productivity and safety while reducing overall job costs. The new ProHeat™ induction heating technology provides high-efficiency heating with easy-to-use equipment, eliminates expenses and hazards related to fuel gases, creates less particulate from insulation and fume from flame, and reduces exposure to burns from open flames and ceramic heating elements.
Miller’s new induction heating site explores all of these topics and provides case studies on successful induction heating applications, as well as a detailed application section that offers photos and descriptions of specific uses for induction heating, such as the post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) of P91 chrome alloy materials, heating of multiple joints, set-up of complicated joint geometries and fixturing of liquid heating cables. Visitors can also order a free CD-ROM that includes a full catalog of technical data and process demonstrations, as well as product information on Miller’s ProHeat 35 induction heating system.
