Miller Spectrum® 875 Plasma Cutter Packs 7/8”-Cut Capacity into Compact 60-Amp Unit

Miller’s Spectrum 875 plasma cutter is the most powerful, most compact plasma cutter in its class. Weighing only 52 lbs., the 60-amp plasma cutter can cut 7/8-in. mild steel at 10 inches per minute.

Key Facts and Features:

APPLETON, Wis. February 16, 2009-- Miller Electric Mfg. Co. introduces the Spectrum® 875, the smallest, most powerful plasma cutter in the 60-amp category. At 52 lbs., the unit is the size of a lunch box, 13.75 in. x 8.5 in. x 18 in., yet offers a cut rating of 7/8 in. on mild steel at 10 inches per minute (IPM). (On thinner materials, the unit’s travel speed is even greater. For example, on 1/2-in. mild steel, travel speed increases to 27 i.p.m.) The Spectrum 875’s patented Ultra-Quick Connect™ torch and work cable provide the quickest connection and removal in the industry, while its cable management straps simplify storage and transport. Its portability and cutting capacity are ideal for construction, maintenance repair operations and fabrication applications.

Adding to the Spectrum 875’s job site efficiency is an electronically controlled air system that eliminates the need for the operator to adjust the air pressure and automatically compensates for input air variations, providing optimum cutting and gouging performance. Line Voltage Compensation (LVC™) provides a steady cutting arc even when input power varies by +/- 10 percent. The Spectrum 875 runs off 208/230V single-phase power, and operates at full output when powered on a 12,000 watt generator.

The Spectrum 875 features Auto-Refire™ technology, which eliminates the need to retrigger the torch when cutting expanded metal, such as grates or fences. The unit also features Auto-Post Flow, which automatically calculates the amount of postflow time needed to optimize consumable cooling.
