MILLER'S DIMENSION™ SERIES PROVIDES TRUE MULTIPROCESS CAPABILITIES, UNCOMPROMISED ARC QUALITY

APPLETON, Wis., June 14, 2005 - Miller Electric Mfg. Co. designs its three-phase line of welding power sources to provide greater reliability and exceptional arc welding capabilities. The Dimension™ series are rugged, reliable machines used by professional welders for superior quality welds.

"Based on customer requests, we developed many features that improve weld quality, as well as durability and reliability of the equipment," says Jeff Hietpas, segment manager, Miller Electric. Available in 300, 450 and 650 amp models, the Dimension series is rated at 100 percent duty cycle.

User Requests, New Features

Over time, Miller has significantly improved the electrical efficiency of its three-phase products. With many facilities receiving rebates from utilities for purchasing electrically-efficient equipment, the Dimension reduces long-term operating costs.

The Dimension series includes a unique Fan-On-Demand™ cooling system that only operates when needed. In dirty or dusty environments, this feature reduces the amount of airborne contaminants pulled through the machines, keeping internal components cleaner. An optional air filter further reduces contaminants.

For easier maintenance, the power sources have a removable control panel that permits quick access to the circuit boards and other electrical components. A simple, easy-to-use control panel features calibrated digital amp and volt meters with an oversized LED display for viewing up to 30 ft. away. The machines also include a terminal strip for remote on/off pendant connection and for connections to other equipment.

Dimension Series

Miller improved its Dimension series of DC constant current/constant voltage power sources so that they are true multiprocess machines, performing MIG, flux cored, Stick and TIG welding processes with superior, uncompromising arc quality.

"Welders in the construction, manufacturing, fabricating, pipe welding, and shipbuilding industries who need one machine for a variety of applications will appreciate the capabilities of this multiprocess power source," Hietpas says.

The Dimension series -- the Dimension 302, 452 and 652 - have a panel selectable "hot start" feature that makes it easier to start difficult-to-start electrodes like the E-6010s and E-7018s. In addition, when used in the CC mode, Miller's "Arc Control" feature lets you get close to the workpiece without sticking the electrode.

The Dimension 302 and 452 feature isolated CC/CV studs that allow the welder to change welding processes with electrical isolation between the feeder and stick electrode holder without unhooking the cables.

The Dimension Series is covered by Miller's True-Blue® three-year factory warranty.
