Big Benefits in the Big Window Elite
Considered the ultimate helmet for the most demanding welding applications, the Elite features a 30% larger viewing area than Miller's standard lenses. Offering the maximum viewing capability, the Paul Jr. and Boyd Coddington designs have four independent arc sensors to ensure optimum lens performance on out of position welding and low-amperage DC Inverter TIG applications (5-amps and below) and has a reaction time of 1/20,000 second. Weighing in at one pound, two ounces, the Elite Series retain their lightweight edge over competitive helmets by a full four ounces.
Available to the US and Canadian markets, the Elite Paul Jr. and Boyd Coddington designs are competitively priced at $329. The Paul Jr. is also available in the XLix series at $269.
The OCC Paul Jr. is an edgy design with Orange County Choppers written in gothic calligraphy on the faceplate above Paul Junior's signature. Silhouettes of spiders and cobwebs capture the biker essence as they artistically wrap over the top and sides of the helmet below chrome accents reminiscent of the popular chopper designs.
Inspired by America's favorite hot rod guru, the Boyd Coddington design captures the classic feel of an old hot rod with sharp red and white pin-stripping that draws the eye over a smooth black finish on the helmets face plate. Along the sides, airbrushed chrome curves mimic the feel of Boyd's designs complete with his signature complementing bright red accents.
"These are professional, very capable, full-featured helmets with Signature graphics designed specifically for fans of Orange County Choppers and Boyd Coddington," states Tom Sommers, product manager, Miller Electric Mfg. Co. "The Performance Series™ helmets continue to be strong sellers because of their professional-grade features and excellent value."
Redesign of an Old Favorite
New to the Xli Series is the American Eagle II. Redesigned with stars streaming through a royal blue background, a noble bald eagle is realistically airbrushed alongside the American Flag, which gracefully flows around the sides of the helmet. The XLi helmet is ideal for hobbyists and most light-industrial applications. The XLi American Eagle II is competitively priced at $219.
XLix Series
Ideal for hobbyists or professionals, the XLix Series is Miller's mid-range helmet. In this series, the Paul Jr. features the Performance Series Lens technology, including an easy to replace battery with solar assist for exceptionally long life (2,000 hours on MIG) no recharging required. Both the Elite and XLix Series helmets are lightweight, comfortable and come with 5 outside and 2 inside replacement cover lenses, an exclusive fatigue reducing comfort cushion and Miller helmet bag.
"Whether a hobbyist or a professional, users will find the new designs attractive and their performance unsurpassed," states Tom Sommers. "New this year, all the Elite, XLix and XLi helmet models are CSA certified; another example of Miller's commitment to providing quality products."
